Regarding
protein,
whey isolate is best. Watch out for
protein blends that have a small
whey isolate content and then they have
whey concentrate,
casein, etc. They cover up the cheap ingredients by saying that a blend is better than pure
whey isolate - bullshit. Only two PURE
whey isolates on the market - Isopure and
Synthepure by
Synthetek again. Both have no flavour, sugars, additives, etc. Best things as far as
protein supplementation. They are both more expensive than other powders, but you get what you pay for.
That being said, at your level, you don't have to worry about
protein powders. Just get your
protein from food sources. Only have the powders if you have trouble getting enough
protein from your solid food sources.
