system i made up for rating symmetry,
Im trying to create a system rating the body’s symmetry. im not sure if one exist, but this is a good system so far to rate your body’s progress in bodybuilding, I feel its better then simply measuring the size of a muscle since that really doesn’t matter much in bodybuilding competition unless your symmetrical, heres the basic idea of how it works, to figure how you would rate your calves for example you use this formula, first make 3 measurements, the point with the largest diameter and the 2 points above and below that with the smallest, so it should be around your ankle, the middle of the calf, and right under the knee. Multiply your biggest measurement by 2, and add together the 2 smaller measurements, then minus off what u just multiplied by 2 from the 2 smaller measurements. My calves are pretty bad, so I use this to measure any improvements, my right calf is a 9.5. 9 inches around ankle, 16 around the peak of calf, 13.5 around section right under knee. I feel this is better then just measuring your peak of the muscles for a few reasons, one when your losing body fat your # should go up if you maintain your muscle, also your left with a more complex # so technically you could lose an inch on the peak but also lose 2" around your ankle and have a better looking calf. This system seems great to measure symmetry, and you can use this basic formula to measure each muscle and have a total #. If you wanted to measure the symmetry in your v taper, and keep track of any gains, do a front lat spread measure waist at smallest point and the lats at largest point. Some of you may this this whole things dumb, but I think its a great way to keep track of personal gains, for me when the #'s are there to show progress its great motivation...
