carbing up?

carbing up?

im still kinda confused with carbing up, I dont really understand it all too well. This week i tried doin it but didnt look any better, the whole week mon-fri, i ate very very low amounts of carbs mostly came from ketchup and some milk. then sat-sunday i ate as much complex carbs as i could, i think maybe i did it wrong since i was eating huge meals at once and not too many frequent meals, for exa, i ate probably 4 cups of plain oatmeal at a time, then later half a box of pasta, what is the proper way to carb up, what are some good foods, i was reading about the Glycemic index for help, and tried eating mostly low gi foods. can someone give me an example of how their last week before a show was, i would really apreciete that, im just cruious about what was eating how often, when, about dehydrating your self, any supplements that you took for vascularity. Please help thanx. Im getting doubts about doing this show in november because of the lack of knowledge....

Its not just carbs you need to watch, but your water intake too.

When you carb up you should keep water intake to sips when thirsty. 16-20 fluid ounces in the day should be ok provided you drink enough water on your ketogenic days.

WIth regards to carbs i would recommend adding a complex carb source like oats to your daily intake. SO with each ormal meal you have a good portion of carbs too. Do this for 1 day and then carb deplete again.

Just my opinion, i have never competed, but i have done ketogenic diets and carb loading before.

Bro , carbing up is something that is different for everyone.. First is this for a show or the beach..... if its for a contest i dont recomend jumping right into 400+ its nuts you cant digest it that fast and your stomach is bloated. I usually use a gradual increase depending on my wt 2 days out.. with total deplet mon-wed. chek wt if good had in 100-125 carbs ( use the same that you diet with) then water on that day is aroung 1/2 gallon. next day increase! weigh in then hit stage . Wyldeone did my prep for the jr's and he is also bringing me into to the USA's has a post on http://www.professionalmuscle.com. do a search, he is a guru ask anyone here
