Question Morning Protein

I have 2 meals before going to the gym ( 7:30am and 11:00am), Oatmeal with milk and carbs with some chicken. Should I add some protein supplement to any of them ? How important is morning protein (before trainning) ?

Our early meals are the same, oatmeal and meat (chicken, turkey or sausage on my part). I always have a quick protein shake as soon as I wake up.

After all, I haven't had anything to eat for at least 5-6 hours. I'll also be seeing the benifit of the AM insulin release no matter what I eat, so I may as well take advantage of it with a quick digesting protein shake. While that chicken is still sitting in your stomach awaiting entry into your upper GI tract, the whey is already being digested.

a quick 20-40 grams of whey protein in water for some fast digesting protein is always a good idea first thing when you wake up IMO. This will help combat cortisol levels which are highest first thing in the morning. Also, your body has basically been fasting over night and the muscles are crying out for nutrition. Follow this up 20-30 mins later with a full meal consisting of complex carbs and protein sources.

you need some bcaa's before training so protein (whey) is crucial
