Our early meals are the same, oatmeal and meat (chicken, turkey or sausage on my part). I always have a quick
protein shake as soon as I wake up.
After all, I haven't had anything to eat for at least 5-6 hours. I'll also be seeing the benifit of the AM insulin release no matter what I eat, so I may as well take advantage of it with a quick digesting
protein shake. While that chicken is still sitting in your stomach awaiting entry into your upper GI tract, the
whey is already being digested.
