there's no such thing as training for powerlifters when it comes to bodybuilding. In bodybuilding you use all the exercises, or at least most of them, to vary things and keep muscle growth going. Deadlifts are an essential for back growth.
I would suggest lots of pull-ups, and do them at the beginning of the workout when you're fresh enough to get some reps. As soon as I started doing pull-ups (vary your grip and stance on them once in while) my back got a lot wider. Then do hyperextensions to finish off the warmup. Then you can hit up some Deadlifts and bent-over rows.
I find single-arm rows are great, you can go massively heavy and really stretch the hell out of your back. Just make sure when you do them you go slow and even and pull with your back more than your biceps.
Obviously pulldowns are good too, but I like to do them as a finishing move when you've already done pull-ups and you can't do any more reps with your bodyweight. try also varying the attachment you use for pulldowns from the wide bar to the V handle for some shock value.
