Hello, I am a new member to this board. Figured I would introduce myself and give a little bio.I'm 28 years old, and began training consistently when I was 14. I started competing in powerlifting at that time. During my teenage years I won two USPF teenage national championships and one USPF junior national championship. I was 25 when I competed in my first bodybuilding competition. This was the 1999 Mr. Vacationland, equivalent to the Mr. Maine. This was a Nabba, or National Amateur Bodybuilding Association contest. For this show I won the overall title and qualified for the 2000 Nabba Nationals. I competed in the 2000 Nabba Nationals the following year and also won the overall title along with the "most muscular" trophy. This win qualified me for the 2000 and 2001 Mr. Universe Championships held in England. I decided not to compete in this show mainly because of the lack of exposure and recognition that I received by winning the Nabba Nationals. So I decided to compete only in NPC sponsored events from this point on. My first show in the NPC was last October. It was the 2002 Southeastern USA championships held in Florida. This show was a big dissapointment for me. I lost too much water and came in way too light. I weighed in at 191. One week out I was about 215 or so and looked much fuller. I placed second in the lightheavy class losing to the eventual overall winner. I believe I could have one this show if I didn't make the mistake of losing too much water. Also on the last day of carb loading (friday) I was sick to my stomach so I couldn't eat enough to load correctly. I can't complain too much though, I have to give props to the guy who beat me,,he looked pretty good. Also, this show was a good learning experience for me. Until this point, I didn't realize that I could lose too much water. The pic that I posted in this forum was taken one week after my show and I weiged almost 225. I feel that this was closer to the way I should have looked for the show. So now I am training for the NPC Nationals, although I will probably do something just before, maybe the Florida State or something close to that show. So here you have it, my career so far in a nutshell. If anyone has any more questions please feel free to ask. Take care people!
