is it better to have a partner or not? my partner slows me down, he sucks, but, is it better than not having one? would i9 even be less motivated if i wasnt motivating him?

We could probably list pros and cons for both having a partner and training alone. I think it is a personal preference, that is, do you think you could push yourself as hard (or harder) alone? You said your partner sucks; maybe if you like having a partner get a different one, or try it alone. I work out alone as every partner I have had before is either late, wants to talk, etc, so I have had some bad experiences with them, thus, as I said before, I work out alone. I don't have problems getting spots when I need them, but, I like to think I push myself pretty hard. I would venture to say that 'if' I found somebody who was as dedicated as I am and had similar goals, I would love to have a partner. But, for the time being, I prefer hitting the weights without the partner.

A good partner is AWESOME to have in the gym. That's the bottom line. If they are slowing you down or not into it, then drop their ass and find someone who is dedicated and motivated at your level.

|--[\\\\]>------ A partner is a must. they must have the same goals as you and the same determination. I like to workout w/ppl who are bigger and stronger..that pushes me. Right now, my partner is a hot chick who competes in fitness, not as strong of course, but goals are the same and NEVER bitches about any exercise...shit i had her doing full deads off the ground last week! And my GOD..what an ass!

I motivate myself...I go in the gym with a partner but I always lose em during my workouts. They never last. Self motivation is key for me! Its all about me & the weights & everyone else watching me like who is that fucker.....hehe

huge, you are so into yourself..like you ever even go to the gym or if you do they are like"whats that guy doing here" he needs to take a shower." but to the question, a training partner is a must, they help motivate me and we ush each other to the limits.

I don't train with a partner anymore. They just piss me off! I haven't had one that was interested enough to train as hard as I do, they are un-relible, or just plain irritating! My wife is usually with me atthe gym, but we do not train together. If I need a spot, I just get her to do it. Same with her. Later
