We could probably list pros and cons for both having a partner and training alone. I think it is a personal preference, that is, do you think you could push yourself as hard (or harder) alone? You said your partner sucks; maybe if you like having a partner get a different one, or try it alone. I work out alone as every partner I have had before is either late, wants to talk, etc, so I have had some bad experiences with them, thus, as I said before, I work out alone. I don't have problems getting spots when I need them, but, I like to think I push myself pretty hard. I would venture to say that 'if' I found somebody who was as dedicated as I am and had similar goals, I would love to have a partner. But, for the time being, I prefer hitting the weights without the partner.
