how do i get this damn amp open?

i have broke 2 in a row and i am pissed off. how the hell do you open these things?

try this bro.. Take a utility knife and score it a few times pretty good. then hold it tightly and give it a wack w/ the but end of
a butter knife or s/thing....or get an amp opener.
must have some tetolent or primo.. if its omna it will have a dot
on the fornt were you break it

Get an amp opener...i'm sure s'one has an addy. I do it the generic way. I roll the amp in a kleenex and break off the top, the kleenex allows the amp to open w/out exploding.

I use an amp opener because it it small and portable. A triangle file works fine though.
Some guys recommend just putting a pen cap over the top and snapping it but there are certain amps that I assure you will not work with this method. ICN are the hardest I've come across to open cleanly.

Small, gem coated finger nail files work great and they are cheep. You can get them in the beauty section of any drug or dept store. Later

I use a knife to score the top then wrap my fingers around it, with my thumb I push on the top ( the very tip of the amp) and push it usually pops open.


Only the big and strong will survive!

the only ones i haven't been able to open by hand are the nile sust amps, they are a mother and you have to file em forever.

use a pen. just stick it over the amp, and pull

Go to a dollar general or any thrift store, and buy an old manual can opener. Get the ones with the small holes in the bottom of the handle. Put the top of the amp through the hole and just pop the top off, works everytime and usually very clean.

Unorthodox yes..but desperation inspires creativity...:-)
