Just work on heavy basic movements like deadlifts and "heavy" bent-over rows. I used to have a similar situation - small lats. Years ago I remember about a pro bb'er stating in an article how he got his back width. Now all of you may want to go ahead and have a good laugh at this point, but I've actually incorporated this into my back days.
Grab a post with both hands, that's anchored down - I use my squat rack. Stand relatively close (I put one foot onto the bottom of rack), and pull back, concentrating on stretching your lats. I found that having a grip so that your arms end up being parallel with the floor is best. Hold this stretch for at least 30 seconds. I do this 3 times at the beginning of every back day.
Now my lats didn't grow overnight. But over the years I've gone from "no" back to it being one of my stronger body parts! Believe it or not !?!?
