As a group of responsible users...

Does anyone want to comment on what has been put out there in the steroid hearings concerning the Garibaldi and Hooten families?

Do any of you find that you too suffer from severe depression. mania, delusions, etc? I do find that when I am doing PCT that my self esteem is very low and the little green monster comes out. What I mean by that is that I get very jealous of my wife's plutonic relationships with other men (her work colleagues etc). That is about the only irrational feelings that I exert that I could possibly relate.

This is a very serious thing that we should probably talk about... not for PR reasons or "calling bullshit" because we like to use but because we are human. We are a community and if there are any bro's out there that are feeling severe side effects such as depression this community can possibly help. We are brothers in "arms" here and if anyone ever feels super depressed I would hope this semi-anonymous forum (or any other BB forum for that matter) could possibly convince our brothers to get help. There is no stigma in asking for help.

Anyone else?

ya, I'll comment.. I think the kid was to young for steroids.. if his fuckin old man had spent more time on educating his son on steroids maybe he wouldn't have to be blaming his death on them today.. maybe he should look in the mirror.. all of us know we go threw some shit on pct.. no sence to hide it.. do your research and proper pct and you know the aggitated state of mind will pass..

Yup...

I gatta tell ya that was my first reaction too. However, the bottom line is that there are bro's out there that are too young doing this and they prolly don't have anyone knowing they are cycling. I guess what I was saying is as a community we don't often address this type of thing and if the depression starts to feel like it is getting out of hand then don't be afraid to talk to SOMEONE. It's important to know and expext some emotional issues while on PCT. If you are going to do a cycle then it is your responsibility to understand the risks and be able to mitigate them adequately. Whatever your method is.

On the other hand I think it is important to call bullshit on the parents (all three of them) that are condemning steroids as suicide inducing. Compared to the amount of users and the poor bastards that took their lives presumeably because of steroid induced depression it's a drop in the bucket. It is a fallacy of composition. This common fallacy is commited when we assume the whole must have a characteristic because some part of the whole has that characteristic. Example: "The Dawson clan must be rolling in money because FRED Dawson makes a lot in his job." Fred might not share a dime with his clan. Now in terms of this case, "steroids cause all depression related deaths because a couple steroid users killed themselves."

This is a classic example of the masses not executing critical thinking in what they hear from the press. There is a sea of fallacy exuded by the press. Everyone (including the families of the kids that killed themselves) feel like they need a cause of some sort to promote. And they usually employ some sort of logical fallacy to "promote" their cause. Just remember... question EVERYTHING you hear...
