Neighbor killed

My next door neighbor was a police officer killed in the line of duty last Wednesday. His daughter goes to school with my son. Jake was a real good guy. The procession for his funeral today had between 800-900 cars. The whole thing lasted about 7 hours. There is a trust fund set up for his little girl. If anyone wants to help out, hit me up and I will get you the addy to send a check. Hell a $5 check from enough of us would certainly add up.
I spent Saturday cutting his grass and mine. He was pretty particular about the patterns in his lawn, so I tried to do him justice :)
Yesterday the wait to go through the viewing was up to two hours. I saw police cars from quite a few other states. It all seemed pretty unreal.
He and I were the same age and fathers, so I have just been counting my blessings.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor... My condolences to his family....We just had a deputy get killed this past week down here in South FL. The poor guy was the first one in the door as they were serving a search warrant on some dirt bag that was involved with child porn. He caught a rifle round right in the chest at close range that severed his aorta.. They say he died instantly.
