Rippedmass members and training
hey, I was gonna post this over at PM but there are so many of the same guys here that I thought I would just post this here. i'll probably post a similar thread there as well since rippedmass appears to be hybernating as of recently...lol=)
I was hoping to here back from some of you guys here in regards to the type of training routine you usually follow. what i'm looking for is maybe some info on your training in terms of frequency, volume...etc...
I have been following dc training for the last 3 months and have had unreal strength gains.....unfortunately I have not seen these gains in size but I'm lovin the program
i am asking this question...because recently I was just thinking about how I really don't know any details about how alot of the guys from pm and ripped mass train9with the exception of LATS and MR magoo, as well as a few others).....These boards have the biggests bro i have seen over any other board out there so I would definately love to here how you guys tackle the weights

WOW!!!
Where is everyone?
I noticed at the bottom of the rippedmass home page, that back in 2002 there where over 300 people browsing this board at the same time.........what happened?=)
Did this board go down for awhile or something and professionalmuscle kinda took it's place?

well kinda.
Yes this used to be one of the most active boards around, even just a few monthas back there were always appx 100 at a time on. Long story but the original owner gave the board over to bigA
and when it came time to re-new or however it works,
The original Owner (Very good Guy! WillK) has retired from the game years ago and wasnt able to be reached for the password intime. Soo then it went down and had to be switched to rippedmass.net and thats when we started losing contact with everyone. Now its back down And Only a few guys have the link.
Lot of guys went to promuscle or some have even started there own boards now and people have just moved on.
HopeFully Once bigA is back in action and
we get the new Rippedmass set-up for good
it will be back in full effect. anyhow thats may not be 100%
correct but thats my version,lol
Stomper1 check your email bro, finally got you that#

Just do this: When you get to the rippedmass homepage, save it to your favorites, worked for me.

Personally I think Doggcrapp, HIT etc are not particulary effective for size gains...-also how many pros really use it...very few...
I think you need more volume,...and that sort of training...tends to be effective more as a change of pace...than long term training...
Basically I do follow idea that one has to be progressive in order to make gains,...so increasing the wts used ...under the same conditions for reps ...must increas substantially for a noticeable increase in mass...
Personally stick to ...sets of 4-12. I will go on a more strength oriented phase for 3-4 months, where I will go low reps on bench, squat and dealift, ...says reps of 4-6, and follow that up with lifts in the 8-12 range. After 3-4 months I switch it up so as to do reps in the 8-12 range for 3-4 months, switching back and forth when I feel I need a change. Sets for large bodyparts, ...10-15 and small bodyparts , about 10, each muscle trained one a week.
Most basic lifts preceded by 3 progressively heavier warmups. Most sets taken to failure, but 2-4 sets a workout will taken beyond failure by use of rest-pause, drop sets, super sets i rarely use forced reps, seems to fatigue CNS, and much more liable to cause injury for me. Once a month for each bodypart, I will complete change the set and rep scheme. For example, do as many sets as required to complete 100 pullups, as opposed to usual 3 sets of 12 or whatever. I think that wt generally should only be increased when previous wt was handled relatively easily. Adding small wt when the previous wt was a struggle will only lead to poor form, injury and stagnation.

I think that is a very BROAD statement to say that "VERY FEW" pros use HIT style training. We could name a few easily - Dorian, Big A, Phil, etc. And to say that we should use Volume because the pros use it, well I'm not blessed with the abilities that Ronnie has. I do agree with being progressive in order to make gains and for me I have had the best results with HIT style training, perhaps you have better results with H.V, nothing wrong with that, as long as it works for YOU.
As far as protein, 350- 400 gms a day.

cns stress occurs indeed from forced reps, but also and more so from volume. i find now as a highly streung individual, and ectomorph, that hit works great at the moment, mon,. wed, fri, as i do two to three progressive heavier stes, but always just short of failure, then one set to failure with maybe one forced rep.
now the great thing here is that your cns takes min 24hrs to recover from a failure workout weather its hit, or volume.
hey we are bb's and we all go near failure right. now with hit, you rest 48hrs, so after the 24hrs required for cns recovery, you have 24hrs recuperation just for the last muscles you damaged.
how often do you train wen doing vol???????????
volume great for 2-4 wks, but you have to recover that cns otherwise your muscles never get full recovery. your brain will heal cns b4 muscle and cns takes 24hr+ regardless of if you train diff muscles diff days???????????

That's the exact same question I was going to ask. The only way you're going to grow is by getting in as much protein as you can. I've had DC train me for a while and yes I got great strength gains but for a little while no real weight gain, untill I started eating, eating & amp; then eating some more. Following both the training & amp; eating plan DC put in place for me I started gaining weight slowly, getting leaner and looking harder than I ever have off season.
Having said all that you have to find what works for "you" not everyone else, it's a little bit of trial & amp; error but you'll know when you've got it right, just remember to put in 110% every time and never settle for 2nd best!!

i have to fully support pitty. on this one, with dc style training if your 200lb or ova, anything less than 400gm protein will not net you any seriuos size gains. pitty is quite a big mofo. ive seen changes in his physique. oh and that calf routine you showed me pit wif the 15sec stretch is absolutely horrid. but its wkin.
