Deca and joints

A good buddy of mine is going in for ankle reconstruction next week. his doc already has him on anti-inflamatory drugs and he put himself on hgh 3 mon. (1mon before, 2 after).

He keeps asking me if DECA will help him heal up and retain mass while he is laid up. I don't know, will it? also, what else can he do in this situation, he's got to keep his foot elevated for 3 weeks to a month..

ya know...situations like this happen alot...it happened to me about two years ago...I got a knee injury..had to break down and not train legs at all for about four months...so what I did was focus on my upper body...anything I could do without putting pressure on that knee...results were I made great gains in my upper body while not training legs..then when my knee was healed my legs came right back and now are bigger then before..
whoops, kinda got off your question....I don`t think deca is a good idea...I would take advantage of the off time to let kidneys and liver get a break...the best advice I can give is just take the time required to heal properly...train what ya can..

I think the deca might make it swell more, and he's not going to keep muscle unless he eats and works out, which he probly won't do. just my .02/t\
