Bad experience, hit a vein.
I do glute shots twice a week and rotate each cheek every week. Today I did my left side( I'm right handed.) I have problems turning my body to see the needle sometimes on my left side mainly because I'm right handed and my torso is a little stiff right now. So I just stuck the needle in all the way and injected 1.5cc's. I then grabbed an alcohol filled cotton ball to clean the area. It was quickly saturated with alot of blood. While in the process of grabbing a wad of toilet paper to stop the bleeding, The blood began to pulsate all over the floor and bathroom mat. By now I knew I obviously hit a vein. Good thing the blood stopped after a little bit. Kind of scary. I just wondered what techniques you guys use to see what your doing to aspirate? I thought this didn't happen that often in the glute area, but mainly in the biceps. It makes me a little nervous for the next time. What tips can you experienced guys offer? Thanks for all feedback, ironone1

it has happen to me, i am sure it has happen to everyone in here, it is a little scary your first time, but trust me, no big deal, do you shave your legs? i do, makes it a little easier to see were those green things are and were they aren't, just be careful, i always break the skin and penetrate slow, so that if i hit a vein, and you know immediately, i can pull out and hit another spot

Last cycle, I was doing a quad shot, I aspirated ...got blood, moved an inch up on my thigh, And the same thing happened.... By this time the lower half of the case was filled with a blood and oil mix... I got out another pin to start all over and wouldn't you know it.... wham ...blood again!
I thought to myself,” damn this isn't even funny"!
So I changed legs, aspirated and nothing, so I dropped the hammer!
I didn't think I was ever going to get a shot in me that day!

What size syr. do you use? I'll probably get 5cc next time to allow for blood if I do a 3cc injection.

Also, if you do get blood, get the blood out of the syringe and find another spot and aspirate again. If you get bubbles, HIT IT...

There is always a chance that you will hit a vein when doing an IM injection anywhere. Once the pin is all the way in aspirate back on the plunger, if you get a flashback of blood, pull back the pin a little and reinsert it all the way in a different spot. Be careful for air in the syringe, if you inject air into a vein you could give yourself an embolism that could travel to your heart or lungs. The risk of this is small, but it could happen. It would be better to start over than to risk this happening. Better safe than sorry.

All it takes is 5cc of air to be fatal.....smaller doses of air will just hurt like a mother fucker.
I've seen it done..

I 'm doing 2.5cc injections. Is .5cc's enough room for blood or are you better off with a 5cc case? I should then shoot out blood and retry again? I just don't want to shoot out that expensive gear. Or could you just reinject with the blood in it? I know I'm a pain in the ass. Sorry for all the questions.

I use 3cc syringes w/ 22g needles. If you get blood in the bevel, pull out, get rid of the blood and re-inject. If you aspirate correctly, you won't get much blood past the bevel.

Thanks bro., I'll go with the 3cc case x 22g. pin. Hopefully things will go smoother next time.
