How old are you? More than likely it was a hemorroid which are completely benign. Usually they are painless with bright red blood. If you have any signs of a fever, losing weight, fatigue or water diarrhea I would get checked out by a doctor. If the blood has resolved by day 3 then I wouldn't worry about it.

Get more fiber in your diet. I like Super Fabulous Fiber by Lewis labs. When I make my shakes I mix in 1 tsp. and it keeps my O-ring happy. The extra fiber also helps keep cholesterol levels in check. Since I've added the fiber I no longer shit forearm sized logs( I have some damn big forearms too). LOL.

Yeah PB is right, more fiber is the deal. Sometimes you can have roids and get blood discharge with no pain at all. Don't fool yourself into thinking it must be painful because it doesn't. Changes in diet can do it too. Just relax, get more fiber, watch your diet and give it a few days. If it happens daily for more than 3 days in a row, hit the doctors office. My guess is it will pass.

Good luck.

Very possible. Gotta take care of your body or it will remind you that you didn't.

If you continue to pass blood, you need to go see a gastro doctor. He will probably want to perform a colonoscopy. This is not something to take lightly.
I had the same thing happen to me several years ago. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Basically, it is an inflammation of the inside lining of the colon. I take anti-inflammatory medication specifically designed for the colon as needed.
Do an internet search for colitis, read up on it, and you will see just how serious it can be.

If the blood is bright red, it's more than likely hemmoroids, no big deal treat with otc preperation. If it is dark(almost black) then there is reason to be concerned, see a doctor at once. Earlier I saw it was posted that a doctor would do a colonoscopy; I doubt it. More than likely he would order a lab test for occult blood.
