acne

What can I do to get rid of the acne on my back. I have tried scrubs and alcohol nothing seems to work. I know there is treatment but it is hard on the kidneys OR LIVER i can't remember. i don't need anymore things to strain those organs

|---[\\\\]>---------- Accutane..that is the key...and it's not that hard on your liver...you do blood work every 2 or 3 weeks to monitor things. it works wonders, but VERY expensive, hope you insurance.

You could also try antibotics, they are cheaper then accutane and not as stress-full on the body.

Acutane is real rough on the mind though. It has been linked to several suicides. Plus the use of gear can add to emotional levels. It is fantastic on acne,but if you use it have a friend or family member keep a close eye on your moods. The kid in my hometown snapped after a month of use. He was actually a congressman's son. Just looking out for you. I use a prescription topical creme calle benzyline or something like that. Cost $20 a month with my insurance. Clears up about 90%. Good luck

don't forget the simple things also like showering twice a day with REALLY fuckin' hot water (hot water helps strip the skin of its natural oils) and antibacterial soap will not only kill germs but help dry out your skin too. Don't wear lotion. And this may sound weird, (BigWil taught me this) but wear fresh clean t-shirt to bed every night. good luck

aaahhh Moose...i didn't know you and BigWil have been having slumberparties...j/kROTFLMAO ...yeah, all i can say is if you go with accutane, make sure you have plenty of chapstick on hand...i got the worst case of chapped lips on it...but like moose said showering more often helps and tanning with no lotion seems to help too...

|---[\\\\]>--------- Yeah, i'm on my 5th week now and it's starting to really kick in, the first few weeks you break out like crazy...kinda like forcing them all out and later it gets better. My lips are murder right now...i always have chapstick with me and the bloody noses are getting annoying..i use a q-tip and put vasaline(sp) inside my nose.

I must caution users who are considering using Accutane of the potential and detrimental side-effects. Accutane, as stated above, has been shown to cause changes in behavior in some users who take the medications. Psychosis,violent behavior and depression have all been reported. What a lot of people over look when they take or are considering Accutane is that it has the potential to be extremely hepatotoxic (harmful to the liver) as well as increasing one's triglycerides through the roof. The effects on the liver may be augmented with the use of anabolics. Word to the wise, people who decide on using Accutane should have their liver enzymes checked throughout the treatment as a precautionary measure. Other alternatives to using Accutane would be Tetracycline, used to treat cystic acne, retin-A used for blackheads, and clindamycin gel (cleocin gel). Just my 2 cents
