Measuring IU's On A Insulin Pin (Units)

I'll be doing my first GH dose before bed this evening. I want to double check to make sure my math is correct on the dosing. I'm using 28gx1/2" (1/2cc) 'slin pins that are measured in units. Here's the numbers that I have:

1 IU= 5.5 units
2 IU=11 units

I will be using 6 IU of GH so that would be 33 Units on my 'slin pin correct???

I think 10 iu and 10 units are all the same arent they?
why would 1iu=5.5 units.
see no reason why gh isnt the same unless Im missin something?

well i was wrong,
just popped open my first jintropin and its differant than i thought.
10 iu was 100units?? is this rite?
I thought it would be like insulin, but its obviously differant,
not sure how or why?

All you need to do is measure how much water you put in 1ml =100 unites or whatever amount you put in divided by the IU of powder. That is the way I was taught.

an iu of slin is def. not the same as an iu of GH, cause an iu represents the activity(hope i am correct) of the substance.

Lets say you have a 18iu vial(HGH) when you put 1ml in this vial, it would make 18iu/ml.

You want 6iu so you want 1/3ml. Each ml is 100 units on a slin dart. You have 1/3 of a ml, so divide 100 by 3 and that give you 33 units(approx.)



Conversions:
1 ml = 1 cc -/+
100 units per 1 cc

6 mg = 18iu

1 ml = 18iu

.50 ml = 9iu

.25 ml = 4.5iu

Some people choose to only do it in cc’s but here is how you can do it in units on a slin dart

5.5 = 1iu, so 2iu = 11 on a slin dart

My math ended up being correct/; At 6 iu (33 units) per day, my 18 iu bottle lasted exactly 3 days.

Just an FYI...you've got covered, but I thought I would help by pasting in my 2cents from helping someone else...

IU is a measure of activity of a particular substance...
IU is NOT a unit of measure for volume (i.e ml, cc, litre, etc)

Humulin and Humalog happen to have 100iu/ml for examlple, that means that in 1ml (aka cc) there are 100 units of insulin.

Reconstituted GH or HCG for example very different on the other hand...the volume containing an IU is completely dependant on how much dilutant you use and how the wafer is dosed...
Serostim for example is 18iu per waffer, add 1ml of water and you have 18 IU/ml. So let's say you want to draw up 1iu of GH in a 100U slin pin, you would draw 5.5 units. Why? Well, divide 100 by 18 and you get 5.5...5.5 units on a 100U slin pin is one IU of GH for this example.
