What is the most amount of muscle you can gain in one week?

Question What is the most amount of muscle you can gain in one week?

Now lets say everything needed for growth is optimal, and the person is juicing. Subtract water weight, fat, carb loading, creatine, and whatever.

What is the maximum amount of PURE muscle growth possible in one week? and how many weeks is it possible to continue growing at this rate?

Im thinking 1 to 1.2 pounds per week.


This would be for the average person. I know measurements arent accurate. So please give a general answer. Im not looking for a scientific answer.

My guess is about 2lbs of muscle per week maximum, with heavy gear use, for an experienced lifter.

First time I did insulin/GH/gear I added 10lbs/week for 4 weeks. Out of those 5lbs/week were muscle, 3lbs water and 2lbs fat. After the 4 weeks I dropped the insulin and kept the GH and gear. I dropped the water gain within days of stopping the insulin. I lost the fat gained within 4 weeks of using the gh and gear. I netted all the muscle (20lbs) and it stayed on.

That was during the time that I was on gear straight between Oct '96 and Aug 2001, with a small 5 week break in early to mid 2000.
I started on gear in Jan '92. I first used GH in Aug '93.

Usually I am 280 off season and compete at 240 with a 28" waist at 5'11.

I have had over 10 months off training, gear and food recently as I was mentally burned out. Dropped to 240 and fatty. I am 260 now and looking better, but I am still not in the swing of things properly yet.

maximum safe weight gain, meaning lean mass not fat or water, is supposed to be no more than 2-3 lbs a week, obviously that is meant for a person not on juice though so I'm sure you can gain more than that

I would say between 1-2pounds of muscle while in cycle, would be great if we continuously gained 1-2 pounds all time :)
