to HIT or not to HIT

Day 1: Chest+Back+sholders
Day 2: Arms
Day 3: Legs
Day 4: rest
Day 5: repeat

I've switch to this style from volume cause i wanted to see what the big fuss was about. I've been doing this for two weeks and i have already seen an improvment in my physique, mainly my chest. But i never stay sore for more then a day. And the only thing im on is 10gm of creatine a day. So my question is , is muscle sorness necccesary for muscle growth. Im not overtraining so i don't know whats my body is trying to tell me!?!?

That much rest ?

3 days workout by 4 days rest ? That muhc rest ?

Ive been wondering for a long time if what I really need to grow or go out of a plateau is to train LESS and rest MORE. Ill give that a try.... Would be any harm to do some cardio 2 of the 4 days of rest ? some 45min on running ?

For how long can someone follow a routine like that before body adapting to it ? or when do you start going 4 or 5 days a week to lift ?

|--[\\\\]>------- If you think about it, that is when you grow--when you rest. You break down your muslces during lifting and you recover/build while resting...so hit it hard on those days and spend the other days eating, sleeping and resting.....remember though, if you want to train this way, do ONLY mass building movements as i call them, strictly basics...no foo foo cable stuff, try and stick to free weights.

Rest is very important, that cannot be stressed to much.

I do think people run around in the gym afraid to put to much work into a set/sets because they are afraid to "OVERTRAIN" Your body is very tuff, with the right amount of REST I believe the body can take just about anything.

When I was into olympic lifting I grew accustomed to long, excruciating 2.5 hour workouts. Guess what I just kept getting stronger and bigger.

When I got into BB everyone said I was overtraining, so I lightened up on the workouts. Resulting in less gains then I got when I started with the heavy hitting. I believe the training should be cycled. However I am not saying you should go out and start hitting 20 sets a bodypart. Do I think you would grow? Yes. Do I think you should run that program for an extended period of time? NO, absolutely not. But I do think experinced lifters could afford to do a little more. Just my .02 cents

I put on my most mass and gained my most strength off the M W F routine...

Like BIGBADASIAN stated, you grow when you outside of teh gym recovering. Hit it hard and get out and eat. THis is if you are tryning to gain mass and strength. Which I think most people are. I know metally you go nuts because you are not in the gym 18 hours a week, but try it and I promise you you will grow.
