Just wondering if anyone around here has ever tried the supplement Juven??? a friend of mine at the gym today was telling me a little bit about it and he had gained 25 lbs over two months of using it...he said it's made for cancer patients and you have to ask for it at the pharmacies because they usually have it behind the counter...anybody know if it's worth the money cause he said it runs about $70 for 30 days worth???

They have a website at www.juven.com Is very expensive though. According to their site, a 15 day supply is $89 Also according to their site, all juven contains is arginine, glutamine, and HMB. Would be much cheaper to just use these supplements. There is also a product called Jevity that many hardcore guys I know use. Jevity is liquid nutrition for hospitalized people that cannot or should not eat anything by mouth. A few nurses I know use Jevity at night through an NG (nasogastric tube) tube. This usage equates to eating while you are sleeping, thus reducing catabolism. Too hardcore for me, but they are much bigger than I am, and we do virtually everything else the same. Must have some benefit, but I am not going to sleep with a tube running though my nose and down my esophagus!

If you are thinking about trying to get some Jevity, beware. It is made with hydrolyzed whey. Don't know if you've even visited the www.proteinfactory.com, but hydrolyzed whey is potent shit. Do not even consider trying to drink it by itself. It is the most bitter shit in the world. You would have to cut it with some other protein, one that tastes decent. Seriously, if you try to drink it alone, you will be dry heaving over the sink.

my friend said he paid about $70 for the box at a pharmacy, so it might be a little higher to order directly from the company...a strength coach from a big football program referred him to it and had him only using one packet a day instead of the two they talk about on the website...he said he didn't get much from the first box and was gonna give up on it, but the strength coach told him he should continue using it and that's when he got really good gains off of it...

Contians 7 mg L-arginine
7 mg L-glutamine
1.5 mg HMB
That is supposidly the patenend juven formula it also has a few other nutrients like Calcium 200mg and Phosphurus 100 mg and 280 mg Potassium. For me I would just buy these products seperate! Though I wouldn't waste my money on HMB ! But that is just my opinion on the matter

Rescued do you have any info on Jevity? I dunno about the hole sleeping with a tube in my nose but it sounds interesting. How Does one put that tube in anyway? I have also heard of powerlifters using amio-acid drips at night. Does anyone know anything about this? I don't remember where I heard or maybe read it somewhere

I work in a hospital and on an ambulance. Its easy for me to get, but may be hard for someone else. I do not know if it is available OTC at a pharmacy. I don't know why it wouldn't be though. An NG tube is placed by lubing up the tube and passing it through one nostril until you start to gag. You then cough and swallow the tube. You need to pre-measure the length of it so that the end only goes a little past the sternum. The other end is then secured with tape to your nose. Oh, by the way, this is just for entertainment purposes only.

hmm I was looking into using vein feeding techniques. Due to the fact I get sick and drop 4 pounds like nothing.

lol the tube in the nose thing sounds like something I could handle but if I ever did it I would have to have someone show me how to do that. You think locall or online medical supply companies would carry that jevity??? Also resued is there anyway you could post the nutrtional info on those bags???? Thanks baby

I go back to work tomorrow, will try to find specifics then. In the meantime, do an online search for it. You should be able to find it no prob. I can tell you this, the protein percentage will not be anything compared to what you can buy to drink. Its much lower, I think around 4-5g per serving.
