NOt that I dont belive that you can do that weight, but according to Dorian Yates, everyone who boasts big presses cant do them right or with full R.O.M. Look at Yates, his max was 1260lbs

I actually do one leg at a time and use like 630 w/ that for 12 reps. One leg at a time are MUCH HARDER!!

I tried those for awhile and for some reason it made my lower back and/or hips hurt. I guess not everyone is made for em.

well i hate to argue with yates but he is off on that one .
as far as the legpress i dont know how he could make that statement, im sure gunter markus and a few other over 280 pounders can do much more than 1260 , even my little under 200 pound ass can do 820 for 10 and i do everything if perfect form

|--[\\\]>------ I have an ancient leg press at my gym. It holds 10 on a side and 3 on top. I can load it all and do like 8 reps. But i generally keep it at like 9 plates on a side, going DEEP for like 12-15 reps. It feels the 'burn' more. God my grammer sucks! lOL!

I aslo hate to disagree with "Dorian", but he needs to talk to "Mike Morris" about that statement!

20 plates(955lbs) is the most I've done for 12 reps deep with knee wraps on. I could probably do more for less reps but they do tear on your knees. Now that I'm off the juice I do 18plates for 12 reps with strict form deep and not locking it out.

I maxed out the leg press at my gym, it said do not exceed 1000lbs, so I put on 1000lbs and did it like 3 times, obviously I don't know my max, I didn't really feel like it was very important to max on that exercise

i did 800lbs with good form for 6 reps and i way 190, it is all about power, if you do alot of powerlifting stuff you can easily go up fast-------cleans, snatches, and the squat, rdl--all raise your leg press

Our press will only hold 10 plates a side and the trainers that work their started to cry about it whne we were stacking the plates on top. So never tried more than 20 plates. Think i'll try some one leggers though!

I usually work up to a total of 28 plates total (all the machine holds) and get it for 10-12 plus the sled weight anywhere from 100-150 lbs I think so whatever that is! And I dunno about doing leg presses any other way than with full range of motion! I hate to see the little pukes at the gym loaded with plates and them moving the sled for 6 inches total. It embarrassas them and makes me laugh!

I can fit 12 plates a side and four on top, and then I have my buddy at 230 sit ontop for 3 sets 0f 10-12 reps. It draws a crowd when I do legs, but I don't think the amount of weight matters as how you lift the weight.
