Gliclazide - replacement for Glucophage??

Hey bro's,
Has anyone ever heard of Gliclazide? How does it work compared to glucophage? It seems to be quite similar in action.

Anyone ever used this?

Glipizide increases insulin output as well as insulin sensitivity.

Pusher,
What kind of doses should be taken? Have you used these before? I have 30x30mg tabs.

I used it a long time ago before I used insulin (5 years?), if I remember right I used it twice a day at 50mg. I could've swore mine were capsules. Don't take my word for it, though. I don't remember it being very effective, got better results with slin and metformin. Perhaps Big A knows more.

hmmm...now that I think of it, I think it was only 5mg twice a day.

Totally different products. Glipizide makes your body release insulin. You could call it 'oral insulin'. Glucophage increases your insulin receptor sensitivity.
Glucophage is pretty much side effect free. Glipizide has the same sides as injecting insulin, but it's much more uncontrollable because it's oral so you have no idea when it's in your system.

Great info. Thanks Pusher and Big A. I think I'll just stick with Glucophage and injectable slin.
