Pre-filtering Fina

How does this process work??? Do u just use a coffe filter and funnel , then pour the dissolved solution thru it into a vial then use the syringe filter?? Is this step even necessary?

Not necessary, but I would do it anyway.

Put the funnel into the vial. Put the coffee filter in the funnel. Pour the soultion into the coffee filter and let it drain overnight. The next day (wearing gloves) squeeze the goo in the filter to get the rest of the liquid, if any, into the vial. Then filter with a syringe filter like usual.

Prefiltration isn't necessary but a good precaution.

To be safe, just order up an extra sterile filter next time so that you don't gum up the filter with binders. The oxidation won't go through your sterile filter when you start but that filter can get gummed up pretty fast if you're filtering a substantial amount. Its always better to be safe than sorry though.

i think you will be glad you prefilter, when you see how much crap it filters out and how little fina you actually lose...well worth it in my opinion
