I dont' know about
protein absorption, however ginger root is often used to help settle an upset stomach -- possibly from eating a shitload of
protein or a big fat heavy
protein shake. It is also used for seasickness - works MUCH faster than waiting for Dramamine and that stuff to work.
Here's what my Prescription for Nutritional Healing second Ed. says about it:
Cleanses the colon, reduces spasms and cramps, and stimulates circulation. A strong anti oxidant and effective antimicrobial agent for sores &
amp; wounds. Useful for bowel disorders, circulatory problems, fever, hot flashes, indigestion, morning sickness, motion sickness, nausea and vomiting. However note that it can cause stomach distress if taken in large quantities.:1book:
