If you want to stay w/ OTC stuff, try loading Vitamin B5 - Pantothenic Acid for a few days, then cut back, then load again.
According to my "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" reference, other supps considered very important to help deal w/ acne are:
Chromium Picolinate - take as directed on the label - Aids in reducing infections of the skin.
Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs, e.g Flax seed or primrose oil) - take as directed on the label - To supply essential gamma linolenic acid, needed to keep the skin smooth &
amp; soft, repair damaged skin cells and dissolve fatty deposits that block pores.
Vit B Complex - 100 mg, 3x daily - Important for healthy skin tone. Use a high potency formula
Vit B 3 (niacin) - 100 mg 3x daily (but watch increased amounts of niacin as it will cause a rash at higher doses) - Improves blood flow to the surface of the skin. (Also dont' take niacin if you have a liver disorder, gout or high blood pressure)
Vit B5 - 50 mg 3x daily - anti stress vitamin
Vit B6 (pyroxidine) - 50 mg 3x daily - Involved in cellular reproduction. Deficiencies have been associated w/ acne.
Zinc - 30-80 mg daily (do not exceed 100 mg daily from all supplements) - aids in healing of tissue, helps to prevent scarring. A necessary element in the oil-producing glands of the skin.
Other stuff considered important:
Colloidal silver - actsas natural antibiotic &
amp; disinfectant
Garlic (Kyolic) - Destroys bacteria &
amp; enhances immune system
Potassium - Deficiency has been associated w/ acne
Vit A - To strengthen the protective epithelial (skin) tissue. Use emulsion form for easier assimilation
Natural Carotenoid complex (betatene) plus Vit E - an antioxidant that enhances healing.

Also make sure you are using some good anti oxidants in your supplement pile to keep the "shit" flowing out of your system. And of course clean your skin on a regular basis w/ a mild astringent to keep the pores cleaner.
