Gear is more effective at contraception that the female pill. WAY better than condom. So no, you don't need to if you are worried about impregnating. Of course, you should always use a condom if you screw around.

But, if you don't use a condom, be careful when you are on HCG - you will be SUPER FERTILE for those few days after the shot.
