Hmm... I gained 30 lbs on my first cycle and kept it all. I started at 205 lbs - 10% BF and ended at 235 lbs - 12% BF.
I ate very clean, low carb, high
protein and trained extreme.... if you EVER are going to do it, it will be on your first cycle.
I was lucky, I lost very little strength or size. But, my gains were slow over 10 weeks. I didn't eat like a pig and get fat and bloated.
