how do you get your shot area sterile? wipes, alcohol, or some other way?

You can use some cotton swabs or alchohol pads q-tips tissue etc. & whipe the designated area with alchohol before & after inj.

a nurse told me that the little fibers that break off from towels and paper towels and tissue paper could get pushed into the body and cause infection. it didnt make much sense to me because even the tissue would be covered with alcohol right? wouldnt that sterilize it?

tissue over your inj. area than I would'nt worry about it. Your just trying to whipe the area clean of germs & bacteria not rub your shit raw.

What the nurse was refering to is cotton fever. Just ask a heroin junkie or a coke main liner, they will tell you all about it.

You know... the kind you can get at any grocery store in the med section. Wipe before and after. I find it helps mellow the sting if you let the alcohol dry some before the shot.

Also, drying of the alchol is when the bacteria is acutually being killed. So always let it dry first!/;
