Proviron is a androgenic compound that is used as an estrogen antagonist. Once the drug is in the blood, it competes with estrogen receptor sites, in some cases this results in an end to aromatising effects of other
steroids. If you were using nolvadex it would only block the estrogen receptors. Proviron prevents the aromatizing of
steroids. Therefore gynecomastia and increased water retention are blocked.
Since Proviron strongly suppresses the forming of estrogens no re-bound effect occurs after you stop using it. Nolvadex on the other hand would not prevent aromatization from starting again.
Proviron itself will not aromatise. Proviron is also used it in a pre-contest stack to attain a harder look. This can be done because the androgen levels are increased the etrogen levels are kept low.
