HOW TO PGP?
The first thing you do is download PGP, and you do that
at
www.pgpi.org. At
www.pgpi.org. you must select the
operating system you have (windows98, mac, windows
etc) and then click to download it. Remember to chose
where you download it so you can find and install it after
the download. Now remember, like has been stated in
all PGP help sites, when it asks for your name, GIVE A
FAKE NAME! You wont be too secure giving out your
real name will you?
MAKE A KEY
After the install, you will now have an icon at the bottom
right corner of your computer screen (taskbar) Right
click the icon and click on PGP KEYS A new screen will
appear, click on Keys and then select New Key and you
will be guided through, it is simple. Some versions of
PGP start the making a NEW KEY as soon as you start
it up the first time, this is ok as well. enter your fake name
and e-mail address when prompted to do so. Whatever
name you chose will be viewable to anyone you send your
key to. SO FAKE NAMES ARE A MUST. You will be
asked to eneter a “pass phrase” Some tutorials suggest
characters like (*^(^%#$%#) this can make PGP even
more secure. This pass phrase is something you will enter
a lot to send and receive messages. SO REMEMBER IT.
After you enter the pass phrase your key is made. Your
key should now be in your keyring box.
SENDING KEYS
Just right click on the PGP icon and click PGP keys. Then
just right click on the key you just made, and select Copy
Open your email, choose edit, and then click paste, (or
right click in the message area, and choose paste)
RECEIVING KEYS
When someone send you there key, it will look exactly like
the one you pasted into your mail when you sent yours.
Highlight the key text, hold down on your mouse (click a
space above or below the keys text) while dragging the
cursor over the entire key, highlight all of the key including
the:
-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
and
-----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
And ALL of the text in between until the entire key is
highlighted, next right click the mouse over a highlighted
area and select copy, or click edit, and copy. Then right
click on your PGP icon. And chose PGP Keys then paste
the key into PGP keys. And that’s it. You have there key.
SENDING MAIL
Just type your message in a text program, notepad,
wordpad, Microsoft word etc. Right click the PGP icon,
and choose current window. Then click encrypt and sign.
A window will pop up, it will be separated by a top and
bottom column. In the top are the peoples keys you have
stored. Grab the name of the person you are sending
the email to, and drag it into the bottom column, and drop
it (release the mouse click) PGP will grab the information
from your text program (notepad wordpad etc) and
ask you for your password (the one you set earlier). And
a window will pop up and look like this:

Now, just copy this entire message, and paste it in the message area of the email, and send it. YOUR DONE
Decrypting Mail
Now you have sent your mail, and when you receive a message back, you will have to Decrypt and verify it.
To do that, (read their reply) just right click (like we did before) and copy all their text and choose to copy it (like we did before) and then right click the PGP Icon. Choose clipboard, and click decrypt and verify. Put in your password, and read the message.
